Great Tool

A used forklift is a tool that can be used in a variety of different ways.  Like a car, it is more economical to buy a big tool like this that is used so that you do not lose too much depreciation when you first buy it.  A forklift can help you load things in a truck, move stuff on the street, or put things up on high shelves.  The forklift in California I used was really cool, because I could use if for all of that. I worked for the city and we always had a variety of different things that we had to do.  Having forklift move stuff for us was a back saver.

The forklift is such a good tool that I am amazed when I see a factory that has heavy things to move, not have any type of tool such as this.  When it comes down to it, it is important to make sure that things are made to easy for your employees to cut down on liability for all involved, including the employees, but also the company itself.  Making sure that things are taken care of with a tool like a forklift is a really good investment.

Forklifts and cars are indeed investments that are sometimes best made with used ones. As with cars, the only difference in nearly new cars or forklifts and brand new ones is that someone else has paid for depreciation. Of course, in the case of forklifts, you can recoup the depreciation in the form of tax rebates.

What type of factories are you in that do not use forklifts? That statement seems a little odd. I have never been inside of a factory that hasn’t had one. Maybe you weren’t in the right part of the factory. Either event, they are marvelous tools.

Plants that don’t use forklifts are just asking for liability issues, especially injury liability. Forklifts reduce the number of injuries caused by moving material around inside a factory. While the short term cost of buying a forklift may seem hefty, the long term savings in liability claims will more than pay for the forklift.

One difference in a used forklift and a used car is that you can write off depreciation at tax time. You can’t get away with that for a car. The exception would be if you had a car that was used exclusively for business.

A friend of mine wrecked a forklift about a month ago. The runway where they normally drove it had a hole in the floor and they covered it up and didn’t put up a warning sign. When he drove over the area, the forklift went and turned over on its side.
