Finding the Right Tattoo Design

I really want a tattoo.
I’ve always been hesitant to buy one but I think it may finally be time to take the plunge. Still, I’m not positive I know where to start.
Oh, I know where I’m going. I also know where I want it (the back of the neck so I don’t have to see the needle). But what kind of tattoo can I get that I know I can be proud of?
It is tough to get inspiration out on the world. Unless I plan on sticking with butterfly tattoos, it is unlikely I’m going to run into a flaming skull or a heart with the word “Mom” any time soon. At least, not unless I see it on someone else. But copying their style seems to defeat the purpose of getting tattoos.
I would probably get one of the popular dragon tattoos if I had more room on my neck to draw it. Still, that seems a little cliché.
No, I think instead I think I have an idea. I’m going to go to the bookstore and look at the covers of the fantasy novels. If that doesn’t give me some sort of idea, nothing will.
