There are probably five thousand things that I love about my best friend but the one that always seems to amaze me is how she can take any topic under the sun and tell you about it in a way that makes it seem interesting to you. I always think that there must be something out there that she can’t interest others in but so far that topic hasn’t come up.

I’m recalling this one time that we went to a party filled primarily with young people. Someone asked what she does for a living and she started talking about cost seg engineering. She was there explaining the net present value of a variety of calculations to a bunch of college kids who had probably spent the rest of the night talking about who was hooking up with who.

I would have thought for sure that this was a challenge that even she couldn’t handle. I was wrong. The people she talked with were completely interested in what she had to say. She even ended up dating a guy from the party for awhile. Her enthusiasm for her work and for everything that she’s involved in just bubbles over and makes it impossible for others not to enjoy the conversation!
