Finding Renters for Your Vacation Rental

Oftentimes when there is a big local event somewhere, dozens of houses will suddenly come up as vacation rentals — their owners just fix up the house as a furnished apartment, charge lots of money, and go away for the week.

This happened a lot in Denver when the Democratic National Convention was in town. Many of these “villas” were listed on Craigslist, probably with the hopes that some high profile Democrats would pay good money to stay at their house.

But if you have an honest-to-God vacation rental, such as an Orlando villa, you will need a better way to find renters. That’s why there are sites that specialize in managing vacation rentals, such as this site for villas in Florida. This helps both the villa’s owner and the vacationer: the owner because the service offers visibility and increased security, and the vacationer because she can easily search for and book the Florida villa of her dreams.

While this is not quite the same as purchasing mortgage leads or other types of leads, it demonstrates how almost any business — even a real estate investor — can benefit from paying to increase their sales opportunities.
