Shopping with Mom »

When I was a little girl I loved going shopping with my mother. We would leave my dad and brothers at home and go do our girly thing together. The joy of this event didn’t last long, though. It turned out that I developed a style of my own early on. It was a style that didn’t suit my mother and one that caused us a lot of mutual grief on shopping trips over the years.
I am happy to say that this has finally changed. As we’ve both gotten older, Mom and I have mellowed out a little bit. As a teenager, I’d rebel against anything that she wanted me to buy. These days, I sometimes take her advice because it’s good advice. And sometimes I take it just because I know it makes her happy. And of course, she’s less likely to pick and prod at me over particular products now that I’m an adult.

I was fairly certain that I wanted access lighting but I didn’t know what types of lighting would really make my home look best. Mom suggested that we check out Schonbek. Mom was right. Again. We got great products and had a wonderful time, something I’m going to be reminded of every time I see the new lights in my home. It’s one of the best things about growing up.
