Reciprocal Linking on a Real Estate Web Site

I have been actively practicing real estate as an independent contractor for the last seven, almost eight years. I don’t hang my license with a firm that provides much of anything as far as advertising help is concerned. The company I work for is considered a 100% company, and therefore I get to keep all of my commissions after paying a monthly desk fee. So while I can ask technical or legal questions at any time, they do not provide any type of internet marketing or website link building services for me.

Having a high quality web site can pay for itself very quickly if you can get quality leads from it. After all, my typical commission on a sale is three percent of the sale price of a house. I am not a computer guru, so I had to contract with a real estate web site developer. The one I chose provides template driven web sites, but I have to fill in the templates. It was a good start but I needed help getting my site found by prospective buyers.

One of the things that the company highly recommended when I signed up was to work on link building. You see, as they explained, link popularity equals page ranking. Page ranking is how high your results are on the list when somebody enters a search in their web browser about the product or service that a web site provides. Well, since I had no clue how to do this nor did I have the time, I researched companies promising higher search engine placement and after a few months, I’m thrilled with the results!
