Websites for Alternative Medicine

Do you remember the 800 phone numbers that were free databases of listings and reviews of doctor’s offices or dentist’s offices? I suppose this dates me, because it was probably 20 years ago — now they have websites instead. Regardless, the doctors and dentists pay to be listed in this inventory, which is why it is free to the consumer.
Anyway, I wonder if the same sort thing would be possible for offices of alternative medicine. Some doctors are okay with alternative treatment methods, but it helps to know which ones are and which ones aren’t BEFORE you make an appointment to see the doctor. For instance, if you are looking for lower back pain relief, but you would prefer something like magnet therapy products to stop pain signals to the brain, as opposed to drugging yourself to dull the pain, you could look in the website inventory to see which doctors are okay with mixing magnets and medicine.
I don’t see any reason why alternative medicine offices shouldn’t be able to buy the same sorts of leads that regular doctors can. For instance, chiropractors used to be treated with a great deal more skepticism, but now they are typically accepted as a valid type of alternative medicine. Heck, even horses have chiropractors these days! Who knows — maybe magnetic approaches to pain relief will eventually have the same respect and appreciation in our society.
