Italian GreyHounds may not be right for kids

If you have a family that includes younger children and you’re considering getting a pet dog, be sure to figure out a few items first. Look beyond the exterior of the animal. For instance, we all know and adore the precious Italian GreyHound for its regal lines, and apparent airs of aristocracy.
The challenge with this breed, however is that they tend to be on the skittish side. Small children filled with energy and lacking in judgement can cause recurring anxiety in this type of dog. While they are not aggressive by nature, they can become reclusive if confronted by continual loud, unexpected noise and disturbances.
Perhaps the better choice for a family with smaller children is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. These are lovely, smaller spaniels that have luxurious, flowing coats. Most attractive to the developing child is the ever expressive eyes and face of the Cavies.
While neither the child nor the dog can communicate in direct, natual language (as far as we know!), there does seem to be some talking going on through the expressions which appear on both “animals” faces!
Their beauty, smaller sizes and congenial temperament make the Cavalier Spaniel a very wise and exciting dog for families with children.
