Interviewing Operation Managers
By Valerie on Mar 21, 2009 in General
So, the president of our company just informed me I would be interviewing operation managers over the next few weeks. It seems he wasn’t happy with our last operation manager as things were pretty disorganized around here. So, I’ve started posting the job opening on a few job boards, and I’m sure my inbox will be flooded with resumes soon enough.
The job really isn’t all that difficult. We already have IT project management software in place; we just need someone who will actually use it and make it a part of our every day operations. The last operations manager didn’t like the idea of automated time tracking software. She was stuck in the past trying to do things the old-fashioned way. And that just doesn’t work anymore. I said it once, and I’ll say it again: software is your friend!
I’m really excited about hiring a new operations manager. I’ve always said that if our company could get organized, we’d reach a new level of success. Disorganization is holding us down, limiting our efficiency. It’s like we’re shooting ourselves in the foot sometimes.
Anyway, I guess I need to start prepping my list of interview questions. I need to make sure we find the right person for the job this time.
