My friend and I were at a store the other day and were passing the maternity clothes section. We usually don’t stop near this section, as neither her or I have been pregnant, or even close to it. But this time she picked up a maternity top and said that she should probably buy it. I thought she was totally joking because of how she always used to joke around when we were growing up about making babies and getting married and having a family with a white picket fence, two kids, a front and back lawn, and all that silly stuff you fantasize over as a kid. But then I realized she was serious!

I think she picked a really awesome way to tell me her great news. It was such a happy surprise that I never saw coming, and she knew that having a baby is always such incredibly wonderful news. She just knew I would be so thrilled and excited for her. She had started down that beautiful path that she and I had both been looking forward to for so many years while we were in high school together. She was definitely ready for this step in life I think, because she had matured so much since our college days and she had met this wonderful guy she really cared about. I’m so excited for her!
