Consider loan officer training to get that manager spot

In order for my brother to ascend to the top levels of management at his branch of the local bank, he’s just discovered there is a series of continuing educational classes he’s going to have to go through. To be considered for the top manager position the first thing he’ll need to complete is mortgage training.

After that, he’ll have to spend at least half a year demonstrating in the normal day to day life of assistant managing all that he learned. Fortunately, while he is continuing to do his normal job, and showing the executives his mortgage knowledge, he’s decided to take an extra step and get even more skills.

While not explicitly required, he knows there is not a single branch manager that hasn’t successfully completed Loan Officer training. And while he has no true desire to sit behind a loan desk day in and day out, simply having the knowledge that is required to do their job will help him edge out any competition that might be vying for the top spot at his bank.

My brother just called to let me know that there is a pottery class offered right after one of the training classes. He’s decided to take that and have something else in his arsenal as a back up ;)
