So Many Flows to Measure

There are so many different applications that require flow metering. The average consumer probably does not realize that meters are used in just about every industry to measure liquid, gas or air flows. In fact there are flow meters that are actually used in every day consumer products and not just manufacturing plants.  For example the typical car engine has a number of flow controllers that keep the gas, oil and air flowing at the right levels which is how engine performance is perfected. But it is the commercial flow meters like those made at Sierra Instruments that make it possible to produce massive amounts of food, power, treated water, chemical substances and so on.

The application of products such as the liquid flow calibrator has made it possible for manufacturing industries to establish rigid quality control standards. The state-of-the-art ultrasonic water flowmeter has enabled meters to be added to lines without invasive application. This has expanded the use of meters to new applications in the medical, energy and food industries. The ultrasonic flow meters are installed on the outside of the pipe which means sanitary conditions are maintained at all times. Clean liquid flow meters are important for maintaining product integrity. So next time you see liquid, gas or air flowing through a line, the chances are there is a flow meter attached along the way.
