High School Needs Professional Quality Design for Nothing
By Valerie on Jul 26, 2009 in Business
I’m a high school drama teacher in Castle Rock, Colorado. I know how to deal with all aspects of production, but I’ve got to tell you, I really fall short when it comes to graphic design. Whether it’s painting particularly artistic pieces of the set, or maybe just coming up with the art for a special piece or even website and poster design, I really depend on the talents of whatever adult pops up to help me get over these inevitable humps. When we did Aida, she was instrumental in coming up with the Egyptian art.
Lately, I’ve been able to rely a little bit more on students for poster or flyer design-even the little ads we put on our school website. But I don’t know what I’m going to do now that I’m losing my premier design parent. For four years, she’s been great at producing great graphic design in London. LA and New York also appreciate her talent. She even has her own graphic design company. And my play posters were awesome. So I had a professional at my behest, but now, no more! What am I going to do?
For those of you in any kind of business, you can relate to my need. But at least you have professional options. I have to rely on charity!
